About the Host

Dr. Pius Kamau, MD
Dr. Pius Kamau is a recently retired surgeon whose distinguished career spanned more than three decades in Colorado’s medical community. Trained in Thoracic, Cardiac, and Vascular surgery, he devoted his early years in practice to the full scope of these highly specialized disciplines before focusing the last two decades on chest, vascular and general surgery. Over the course of his career, he performed thousands of lifesaving procedures and earned a reputation for surgical excellence and compassionate care.
As part of his private surgical practice in the Denver metro area, Dr. Kamau held privileges at eight hospitals and was most active at five of the region’s leading institutions. His contributions to Colorado’s medical community reflect not only technical mastery but also a profound commitment to patient well-being. Today, Dr. Kamau has transitioned from the operating room to the written word, dedicating himself full time to writing. Drawing on his medical expertise, global perspective and lived experiences, he brings a thoughtful, humanistic voice to his essays, articles and books.
